How to Implement the EUDR in Your Organisation

11 mins 39 secs

Key learning objectives:

  • Understand the scope of the EUDR

  • Outline how to set up governance structures for EUDR compliance

  • Identify tools for EUDR process management

  • Outline which countries are low, standard and high-risk

Overview:

The EUDR significantly expands due diligence obligations for companies placing certain commodities and products on the EU market. It requires operators and traders to prove their products are not linked to deforestation by following formal, traceable procedures. A successful compliance programme requires close co-operation across departments. Organisations must implement a robust internal due diligence system. This includes documented procedures for risk assessment, mitigation, and reporting; reliable supplier verification methods; and secure document storage. The EU’s benchmarking system assigns each country one of three risk levels. Low-risk, standard-risk and high-risk.
