Green Chip Stocks

A play on the term ‘blue-chip’ to denote high-quality companies, green-chip stocks are shares in companies in environmentally-friendly industries or companies which operate under some sort of social compact. The term green-chip does not necessarily in and of itself denote high quality; green-chips can be volatile.
