Climate Finance
Climate finance refers to the financial resources, instruments, and mechanisms that support the transition to a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy, with a focus on reducing emissions, increasing greenhouse gas sinks, and reducing the vulnerability of human and ecological systems. This is done via the funding of climate change mitigation, adaptation, and capacity-building activities. Climate finance can come from public or private sources, be provided through grants, loans, or equity investments, and can be channeled through national, regional, or international institutions. Climate finance is essential for mobilising the necessary investments needed to achieve global climate goals and support sustainable development.
