Key learning objectives:
Understand how to assess the feedback you’ve received
Define feedback
Outline David Kolb’s experiential learning theory
Overview:
The Cambridge dictionary defines feedback as ‘Information about reactions to a product, a person's performance of a task, etc. which is used as a basis for improvement.’ When you give feedback, you are simply communicating information, your opinion about and reactions to something someone has done. Giving, receiving and soliciting feedback is critical to your development and growth as a human being. American education theorist David Kolb created an experiential learning theory that posits we have an experience, observe the effects, think about it and then finally try again.
