No-till Farming
No-till farming, also known as zero tillage, is an agricultural crop production practice which avoids disturbing a farm's soil via tilling, therefore reducing erosion and preserving its structure. Instead, a direct drill is used to plant crops. By incorporating no-till farming, considerably higher amounts of crop residues are left on the soil's surface, which can help to improve soil fertility and structure, water retention, and carbon sequestration. The practice contributes to sustainable agriculture, climate change mitigation, and food security.
