Environmental Remediation
Environmental remediation is the process of removing hazardous and harmful contaminants and pollutants from different parts of the environment, such as soil, groundwater, or surface water, in order to protect human health and ecosystems. Remediation methods can include physical removal, chemical treatment, or biological processes, and may vary depending on the type and extent of contamination. Environmental remediation is also now often required as part of regulatory compliance, site cleanups, or brownfield redevelopment, and helps to restore the environment, as well as prevent further damage to it.
