Ecosystem-based Adaptation
Ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) is a strategy that makes use of the conservation, restoration, and sustainable management of ecosystems in order to help people adapt to the impacts of climate change. EbA can provide multiple benefits, such as coastal protection, food and water security, and carbon sequestration, all while also supporting biodiversity conservation. Enhancing ecosystem adaptation through human intervention, that is, the sustainable management, conservation, and restoration of ecosystems, which can include things like agroforestry and proper stormwater management, can support the resilience of ecosystems and their dependent communities.
